Data reduction

Content owned by astephens

Wide-field data will be provided as raw FITS cubes via the Gemini Observatory Archive which can be processed with most standard image reduction software.

Speckle data will be processed by the 'Alopeke & Zorro team and the reduced data will be distributed 1-2 months after the end of the run and uploaded to the Misc Files section of the Gemini Observatory Archive.

The speckle data products include:

  1. Reconstructed FITS images in each filter (examples below).
  2. Contrast curves (in each filter) showing image points, 5-sigma fit, and whether any companions were detected (examples below).
  3. Data files used to make the contrast curves (examples at 562 nm and 832 nm).
  4. Measured parameters for any detected companions, as derived from the Fourier analysis (not simply measured off the reconstructed images) (example).
