Mauna Kea Time Lapse Movie

Here is a time lapse movie featuring the Gemini North Observatory. Many other observatories can also be seen as their 'domes' move to capture the night's science data. From left to right: Subaru, Keck (I&II), NASA IRTF, and the CFHT observatories.

Overhead in the night sky, the moon illuminates most of the frames of this movie. See if you can spot the seven sisters otherwise known as the Pleiades star cluster setting towards the left, as well as the 'Big Dipper' rising above the Gemini Observatory.

You have to look quick to see the meteor streaking by in this one frame.
