Diego is an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad de los Andes, in Colombia, and obtained an MBA from Iowa State University in 1993. He holds a certificate in Humanitarian Services from the University of Melbourne and he is a certified grant financial manager. Diego was most recently the Director of Finance and Administration of Oceana and led the teams in North America, Caribbean, South America and Europe. Diego was previously Deputy Director of Finance for PADF (Pan American Development Foundation); he implemented programs in the Americas funded by the World Bank and the governments of Canada and the US. He previously was a Senior Finance Officer with World Vision, and implemented US Government funded programs in Eastern and Southern Africa. He was the Finance Director of GSK's Andean region, and General Manager of GSK's pharmaceutical operation in Colombia. |

Rodrigo Sandoval is the Safety Program Manager for both telescope locations (Hawaii and Chile). He has developed, tailored, implemented and confirmed world-class Environmental, Health and Safety Programs for major companies in the electronic, electrical and automotive industries for the past 13 years. He has also worked as an environmental professional in local government and as a teacher in UPAEP in Puebla, Mexico. His background includes strategic planning, EHS culture implementation, analysis of worldwide EHS standards., ISO 14001 Certifications, ergonomic programs, industrial hygiene, medical services management, government inspections and education. |

Jon Archambeau is the Safety Coordinator for the Gemini North Observatory. He received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a second bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a minor certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2007. Since 2006 Jon has been employed at Gemini North Observatory and has held various positions within the Laser, Public Information and Outreach, and Safety departments. Additionally, Jon also has 3 years experience as a Telescope Operator for the University of Hawaii 88 inch Telescope. |

Sandra Romero is Gemini South Safety Coordinator. She has a bachelor degree in Risk Prevention from INACAP and a technical certificate as Legal Assistant from Universidad de Tarapaca in Chile. Her working experience initiated at a machinery and equipment service and maintenance company for mining industry and in 2007 she moved and worked for a local construction company in La Serena implementing their safety management system and reducing incidents significantly. |
