High resolution spectroscopy can be obtained with Phoenix in the 1-5µm region, within the bandpasses of the blocking filters mounted in the instrument. A small range of narrow slit widths (providing different resolving powers) is available. The properties of the slits and blocking filters are described in this section, as well as information about exposure times and observing hints.
