GNIRS Grating Usage: long camera and 10 l/mm |
| Resolving power: (lambda / delta lambda) |
1700 with 0.1 arcsec (2 pixel) slit |
| Typical uses: (...and limitations) |
(1) Spectra of all or most of an atmospheric window at one grating setting with fine spatial sampling This mode replicates the resolution of the short camera with the 32 l/mm grating, but with 3x the spatial resolution. Because of the significant slit losses (e.g., a 0.1 arcsec slit is required to match the resolution of the 0.3 arcsec slit with the short camera), this mode is only recommended when very high spatial resolution is desired. |
| Example spectra and other figures: | This mode is currently in commissioning; sample spectra will be provided when available. |
