Spectroscopy
- Grisms:
- Two low resolution grisms (JH and HK) with R~1200 and simultaneously covering the J&H or H&K bands
- One medium resolution grism with R~3000 (two pixel) giving complete coverage of one (J or H or K) NIR band at time
- Focal plane masks:
- Longslit masks of width 1-pix, 2-pix, 3-pix, 4-pix, 6-pix, 8-pix. They have length ~5' in the standard f/16 (non-AO) mode.
- Custom cut MOS masks, covering a ~2' x 6' field of view (see the Flamingos-2 optomechanical diagrams).
- Science detector: Rockwell 2048 x 2048 HgCdTe HAWAII-2 (18 micron pixels)
- Pixel scale: 0.18 arcsec/pix at f/16; 0.09 arcsec/pix at f/32 with MCAO.
