Data Format and Reduction

PIs will be provided science-ready reconstructed images in each filter as processed by the DSSI data reduction pipeline. The reconstructed image is made by calculating the spatial frequency power spectrum and bispectrum of each individual frame, and averaging these over all frames. The Fourier transform of the image is calculated from these averages using the methods described by Meng et al. (1990). This is transformed back to the image plane to arrive at a reconstructed image. Raw data (the individual speckle exposures) may be requested from the Instrument PI.
