Talks

Talks may employ overhead transparencies, Powerpoint, or Star Office (Linux). The conference will provide projectors and laptops running Windows and OpenOffice.

To avoid wasting time during the sessions, which typically arise when laptops don't "like" the projector settings, we strongly urge participants using Powerpoint or StarOffice to bring their presentations on CDs or floppies, so that they may be loaded into our PC prior to the talk. Alternatively, if your laptop has a usb port, you can transfer the presentation to our laptop. Transfers to our laptops must be done well in advance of your talk.

We also have set up an ftp site where the presentation file can be deposited. To transfer a file, do the following.
ftp ftp.jach.hawaii.edu
log in as anonymous, etc etc
cd incoming/GC2002
binary
put FILENAME
quit

Posters

Posters must be no more than 4 feet (120 cm) high and 3 feet (90 cm) wide. The conference will provide pins to fasten the poster to the boards provided.
