and decreases rapidly toward lower masses. Note that the ages of most stars are t<1 Myr, that the distribution of derived masses peaks near 0.2M
and decreases toward lower masses; and that there appear to be candidate substellar mass objects which appear with a frequency of ~1% of the total stellar population.
