Fringing
The GMOS-N and GMOS-S E2V detectors have significant fringing in the red. The new GMOS-N DD E2V detectors exhibit much less fringing than the original E2V detectors. It is expected that the GMOS-N Hamamatsu detectors will exhibit even less fringing. The pages in this section show examples of fringe frames in imaging mode as well as science data before and after correction for fringing.
