CIRPASS — Doing Science on Gemini South

Einstein Cross q2237+03

Spectrum of one of the QSO sub-images

Reconstructed image showing the CIRPASS integral field unit (IFU) apertures. The width of each hexagon corresponds to 0.36 arcsec across on the sky. This image was made using the redshifted hydrogen H-beta line from the multipe images of the lensed quasar.

This plot represents one of the several hundreds of spectra from the CIRPASS IFU data cube obtained on the Einstein Cross lensed quasar. The line emission line H-beta is the broad feature centered at about 13,200 Angstroms. (Click on the image above for a larger depiction.)
