Gemini, Keck and Subaru Combine Efforts to Study the Assembly of a Large and Distant Galaxy ClusterUsing Gemini's Multi-Object Spectrograph and all of the 8-10 meter-class telescopes on Mauna Kea, a University of Hawaii team has discovered new details in the formation of a distant assembly of galaxies in large galaxy cluster. Funneling of matter reveals filamentary structure as predicted by theoretical predictions of cluster formation. |
