Gemini South/PHOENIX Strikes Again |
|

Gemini's high-resolution
spectrometer PHOENIX "corners" the nearest brown dwarf: it has a mass 32 times
that of Jupiter and a surface gravity almost 6 times that of the Sun. With
a rotation period of 3 hours, it is spinning faster than any planet of our
solar system.
